HOW DOES IT WORK?
At Atanga Aesthetics in Wimbledon and South Kensington, the most popular Anti-wrinkle injections are a nonsurgical alternative to a traditional brow lift, a type of cosmetic surgery that involves incisions and removal of skin. An Anti-wrinkle brow lift consists of non-invasive injections of botulinum toxin targeting specific muscles surrounding your eyebrows. Nurse Emily relaxes underlying muscles to smooth your skin on the outside and between the brows. This allows the forehead muscles to pull up the now-relaxed muscles between the brows, thereby elevating the brows and opening up the eyes. Results will vary, depending on your age and tone of the muscles left to pull up the now-relaxed muscles.

AFTERCARE
Remain upright for 3-4 hours after your treatment.
Avoid touching the injected area, having facials and massage for 48 hours this is to ensure that the treatment remains at the site of injection.
Avoid vigorous exercise and alcohol for 48 hours.
If bruising develops then you can apply arnica cream after 49 hours.
RISKS & ADVERSE EFFECTS
Anti-wrinkle treatments in particular are one of the safest non-surgical procedures performed. It provides a temporary effect. The single most important adverse effect is botulism which can occur as a result of improper dose injection causing difficulty with swallowing and breathing. The main complication of Anti-wrinkle treatments are procedural, in that “unwanted results” may occur. These may include temporary facial nerve paralysis, facial and/or eyebrow droop or a surprised look of the eyebrows. As such a comprehensive knowledge of anatomy is essential and will lessen the risk of occurrence of these events. There may be redness, pain and swelling associated with the site of injection which is all short-lived and spontaneously resolves. There is a possibility of bruising, as is with every injection which will resolve within 7-10 days. To minimize this, patients are asked to avoid the use of blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen family of medications, vitamin E, ginseng, unless as directed by your physician. Further instructions will be provided to you in case of bruising to speed recovery time and resolution.
