HOW DOES IT WORK?

Profhilo® is a specialised injectable treatment used in aesthetic medicine primarily for skin rejuvenation and hydration. It is designed to improve skin texture, elasticity, and overall quality. Profhilo® contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the skin, which helps to restore and maintain moisture levels in the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo® does not add volume or structure to specific areas; instead, it works by hydrating and improving the overall health of the skin.

Profhilo® is composed of high concentration, stabilised hyaluronic acid. The unique aspect of Profhilo® is its patented technology that allows the HA to spread evenly beneath the skin’s surface. It contains a high molecular weight HA and a low molecular weight HA, which work synergistically to provide deep hydration and stimulate collagen and elastin production to the face and neck areas.

The Five-Point Injection Technique for Profhilo®

The administration of Profhilo® typically involves a specific five-point injection technique to maximise its effectiveness:

Temporal Region (Point 1): The first injection point is usually located at the temples. This area helps to address skin laxity and fine lines that can develop in this region.

Cheek Area (Point 2 and Point 3): Two injection points are usually targeted in each cheek. Profhilo® helps improve skin texture and elasticity, reducing the appearance of sagging skin in the cheek area.

Nasolabial Folds (Point 4): The fourth injection point is often directed towards the nasolabial folds or laugh lines. Profhilo® can help soften these lines and restore a more youthful appearance.

Jawline (Point 5): The fifth injection point is typically along the jawline. This can enhance jawline definition and reduce the appearance of jowls.

The key to Profhilo® success lies in its ability to disperse and integrate within the skin, providing overall hydration and stimulating collagen and elastin production throughout the treated areas. The five-point technique ensures that the product is evenly distributed for optimal results.

It’s essential to receive Profhilo® injections from a trained and experienced medical professional who can assess your specific needs and provide a customised treatment plan. The results of Profhilo® are generally gradual, with improved skin quality becoming noticeable over several weeks after the treatment, and the effects can last for several months.

Much less commonly there may be eruptions, skin sores or infection at the injection site.
